Indianapolis Zoo Wedding

Wedding photography at the Indianapolis Zoo is awesome enough as it is…

…but these two really made it something extra special. I’ve shot at the White River Gardens on several occasions, but it’s not often you get the actual zoo all to yourselves. We first met Ashley and Yenling on a stormy day at a coffee shop right by our house. Come to find out, it was right by their house, too. We were virtually next-door neighbors! Needless to say we’ve seen them a few more times than just on this magical day — dinner date, engagement session, and a legendary Deviate beer date for starters. These two are the perfect amount of funny, genuine, intelligent, sarcastic, and a bit nerdy.

And of course their Indianapolis zoo wedding was a brilliant dream. The dolphin dome was by far one of our favorite shoot locations to date — a total bucket list for over a decade since we first discovered you could even have a wedding there! But you cannot ever go wrong with a ceremony in the stunning White River Gardens, or a little bridal party action in the glass atrium that makes up the Butterfly garden. From Sun King beer and the BEST wedding cake we’ve ever had (I ate three pieces), to a rocking party, to absolutely iconic Indianapolis wedding photos, this wedding was an instant fave.

It goes without saying that we’re totally on board to shoot another wedding at the Indianapolis Zoo and White River Gardens if you or anyone you know is game!
